    Cricut Artiste - It's a Party in a Box!

    Artiste jump-starts your party preparations

The brand-new Cricut® Artiste cartridge knows how to party! Fifty themed keys with over 700 shapes including cute cards and 3-D projects galore add up to a staggering number of party favors, invitations, and decorations, all at your fingertips when you have the Cricut® Artiste cartridge!

As one example, take a look at the coffin-shaped treat boxes above. If you’re planning a Halloween party—or if you just want to make Halloween treats with a spooky flair—these coffin boxes are a snap! Here’s how to do it:

    First, gather these materials:
    Z1790 Cricut® Artiste Collection
C1462 My Acrylix® All Hallows Eve Stamp Set
    Z1375 Kraft Cardstock
    1243 Goldrush Cardstock
Z2118 Desert Sand Exclusive Inks® Stamp Pad
Z2105 Black Exclusive Inks® Stamp Pad
    Z1701 Baker’s Twine Neutral Assortment
Z1754 Sparkles Black & Grey Assortment
    Z1151 3-D Foam Tape

With your Artiste cartridge in place, load your Cricut® machine with kraft cardstock and cut the coffin by setting the size dial to 5 1/2" and pressing the “3D Object” feature key, then press the “Eek” key, which is the sixth key in on the bottom row. At this size, you can fit two coffins per 12" × 12" sheet of kraft cardstock.

Thanks to the brilliant coordination of elements on the Artiste cartridge, you’ll cut the lid to the box at the same size setting for a perfectly coordinating size and fabulous fit! Press the “Shift,” “3D Object” and “Eek” keys. Two coffin lids will fit on a 12" × 12" sheet of kraft cardstock at this size.

Next, before folding the coffin, stamp the diamond pattern image from the All Hallows Eve stamp set several times with Desert Sand ink on the coffin lid. Stamp the cobweb and spider images in Black ink. Follow the easy instructions on page 58 of the assembly booklet to put the box together.

Next, cut a 1/2" × 2 1/2" strip of Goldrush cardstock for each coffin and stamp the “Beware” sentiment on the strips. Trim a pennant edge on each strip and then attach it to the lid of your coffin using 3-D foam tape.

Finish your coffin by attaching a Black Sparkle over the spider’s body. Ooo! After filling the box with your treats, wrap the coffin lid to the base using a few inches of Black baker’s twine. Give to your favorite goblin or ghoul!

This is just one example of how the Cricut® Artiste cartridge can help make preparing for all of your parties and celebrations even easier! Check out the brand new Workshops on the Go® Spellbound Cricut® Kit (page 14 in the Autumn / Winter 2012 Idea Book) for another great Halloween-themed party idea using this fabulous cartridge.

    Summer Vacation 2012

Hi Everyone, I am finally back home from my week road trip vacation up to Virginia. My family & I had a fantastic time up there. As much as I really didn't want to come back, I am happy to be home.

"There is no place like home. There is no place like home."

Wow, don't know why I have that line in my head. Isn't that the line from Wizard of Oz. Lol. Anyway, Now it's time for me to get rolling with scrapbooking all the wonderful photos I took. The hard part is deciding whether to use Studio J to drop my photos in the layouts online or make my own layouts with the awesome pattern paper CTMH has to offer.

Well, while I try to decide on how I'm going to do my layout, below you will find a couple of photos I wanted to share from my trip.

    Super Easy Paper Bows

Hi, Everybody! Today I would like to show you how to make a Super Easy Paper Bow to decorate any of your gifts with a little of your own personal style.

    Step 1:

    Gather the following items:

-Your favorite pattern 12"x12" paper. (I chose Florentine (Product# X7153B) B&T Duos Paper from CTMH)

    -Paper Trimmer (Product# Z1783)

    -Tombo Mono Adhesive (Product# 1514)

    -Stapler

    -Glue Dots (Product# 1772)

    Step 2:

Once you have gathered everything that you need, cut your paper into 3/4 inch strips. Leave 6 of the strips full size. Cut 1 inch off 4 of the strips. Cut 2 inches off 1 of the strips. And lastly cut 1 strip down to 5 inches. The remaining strips put aside as backup fillers.

    Step 3:

Twist each strip with loose loops on each side (except for the 5inch strip). Secure the ends to the center with the double sided tape. Then take the 5 inch strip & form it into a circle & secure it with a glue dot.

    Step 4:

Take 3 of the larger pieces & layer them on top of each other. Make sure to space them evenly & secure the center with a staple. Repeat process with remaining 3 large pieces. Then stack & secure the 2 pieces with a glue dot.

    Step 5:

Take 4 of the 11 inch pieces & layer them on top of each other. Make sure to space them evenly & secure the center with a staple. Then stack & secure it to the center of the bow with a glue dot.

    Step 6:

Take the 10 inch piece & secure it to the center of the bow with a glue dot.

    Step 7:

Finally, take the 5 inch loop & place it into the center before securing it. If it looks like the bow may need some extra loops then take one of your extra strips & cut it down to 10 inches. Twist the strip with 2 loops on each side, secure it the center of bow & then secure the 5 inch loop. If it doesn't need the extra loop then secure the 5 inch loop to the center.

That's it, Your Done! Get busy making your bows today as the Holiday's are rapidly approaching us.

Baby Shower Thank You Card & Favor

Below is a picture of the Thank You card I made & gave everyone that came to the Baby Shower. Also, there is a picture of one of the favors that I also made, that was given out at the shower.

    Baby Shower Invitation

So my Sister & Mom gave me a baby shower last year August. They were going to order some invitations for the shower but what's the fun in that. Of course I ended up making my cards since I wanted something different. Below is the pic of the front & inside of the card.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD

Here is a sample of a simple Happy Birthday card. Reminder that the sentiment can be changed to something else, example: get well, best wishes, etc.

    DAISY THANK YOU CARD #2

Below is a Daisy Card that can be used for any occasion by changing the sentiment. I had chosen the Thank You stamp.

    Place Card/PillowBox

For my Sister's Wedding instead of using seating tent cards we decided to use pillow boxes filled with her husbands favorite candy. The boxes were cut out & embossed using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. Then decorated with a ribbon & a seating card. The card was embellished with a diamond accent in different locations to advise the waiters what they will be having for dinner. Example: if placed on top of name means person had chosen steak, if placed below name person chosen chicken, & so forth...

    DAISY GIFT TAGS

Below are Daisy Gift Tags I made for my Sister who wanted to tie onto the goodie bags she was going to hand out to the out of towners that were attending her wedding.

MASCULINE CARD & TIN CAN ORGAMI PROJECT

Below is a card & project I did for a friend of mine that needed something for Father's Day. But can be used for any holiday for guys just by changing the sentiment.

The Orgami Shirt that was added to the Tin Can Project was created by following the instructions on a youtube video. All you have to do is enter "orgami shirt" in the search field and a numerous amount of videos will pop up showing you how to do one.

The Shirt Card was cased from Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Sylvia Kipnes. Click following link for the instructional video:
